Pipeline Overview

Gilead’s pipeline is currently at its strongest historical point, with over 50 clinical programs active. The 2026 focus is on “long-acting” technology and “next-generation” cancer treatments.

1. Lenacapavir (Sunlenca): The crown jewel of the pipeline. Investigations are focused on twice-yearly dosing for HIV prevention (PrEP) and combinations for long-acting treatment.

2. HIV Cure Research: Early-phase trials using broadly neutralizing antibodies (bNAbs) and therapeutic vaccines.

3. Hepatitis B: Research into a functional cure for HBV remains a high-priority, long-term goal.

4. Trodelvy (Sacituzumab Govitecan): Extensive Phase 3 trials are expanding its use into early-stage breast cancer and non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).

5. Anito-cel: A promising BCMA CAR-T therapy for Multiple Myeloma (via the Arcellx collaboration/acquisition) expected to challenge incumbents in 2026.

6. ADC Expansion: Following the April 2026 acquisition of Tubulis, Gilead is integrating a next-generation Antibody-Drug Conjugate (ADC) platform to target ovarian and other solid tumors more precisely.

7. MASH (formerly NASH): Gilead continues to evaluate combination therapies for Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatohepatitis (liver scarring).

8. Immunology: Moving further into IBD and Rheumatology with oral selective agonists and T-cell engagers (via the Ouro Medicines acquisition).
