Princeton University is a prestigious Ivy League institution located in Princeton, New Jersey, United States. It is known for its rich history, outstanding academic reputation, and beautiful campus. Here are some key facts and information about Princeton University.
Princeton University has many postdoctoral fellowship openings, which are to be filled up by skilled researchers. Currently, the open positions are in the interest areas including Synthetic biology, Electrophysiology, Materials Science, Evolutionary Biology and more.
1. Postdoctoral Research Associate in Metabolic engineering and Synthetic biology at Avalos lab
The Avalos lab at Princeton University has open positions for Postdoctoral or higher qualified candidates interested in Synthetic biology and Metabolic engineering. The new joiners will join a team of chemical and biological engineers, biochemists, molecular biologists, and microbiologists interested in developing biotechnological solutions to address challenges in renewable energy, sustainable manufacturing, and human health. This group specialised in dynamical and spatial control of engineered metabolisms using techniques such as optogenetics, subcellular engineering of natural (mitochondria) and synthetic (protein liquid condensates) organelles, microbial consortia, synthetic biology, cellular engineering, and protein engineering.
The group is part of the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering. Ph.D is required. Qualified candidates will be highly motivated, with a strong background in chemical and biological engineering, bio-engineering, molecular biology, microbiology, biochemistry, biophysics, computational modeling or related fields. Experience in metabolic engineering, synthetic biology, yeast genetics, or control theory is a plus but not necessary.

2. Postdoctoral Research Associate at Neuroscience of Attention & Perception Laboratory (NA&P Lab)
A position for a post-doctoral or more senior research associate in human and monkey electrophysiology is open at the Neuroscience of Attention & Perception Laboratory (NA&P Lab) led by Dr. Sabine Kastner. The lab is currently under research on the neural mechanisms of cognition in the primate brain. Researchers can have an opportunity to pursue their research and contribute to the lab’s overall research.
We are seeking an extremely motivated postdoctoral researcher with a background in human or monkey electrophysiology. Studies will include simultaneous recordings and stimulation from multiple, interconnected brain regions. The researcher will gain experience with the use of laminar/neuropixel probes and electrical microstimulation to study attention and decision-making networks in a behaving animal model together with parallel studies in humans. The project is part of a NIMH Silvio O. Conte Center on the “Cognitive Thalamus”. The successful candidate will be part of a diverse team of experimentalists, theorists and biostatisticians that studies thalamocortical interactions in different brain models (tree shrew, macaque, human neurotypical, schizophrenia patients) and levels of analyses (local- and large-scale circuits). This is a unique opportunity to learn about team science approaches.

4. Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Department of Molecular Biology
An open position for a postdoctoral or more senior researcher in the laboratory of Alexei Korennykh in the Department of Molecular Biology. Candidates with relevant PhD degrees to work in the fields of human cell biology and structural biology are suitable.
Our research explores molecular and cellular mechanisms of immune receptors, which recognize “dark matter RNA” (non-coding RNAs) and shape autoimmune disorders and cancers. Some of our core methods include tissue culture, cell biology, CRISPR knockout generation, various flavors of RNA-seq, RNA biochemistry, RNA biology, X-ray crystallography and Cryo-EM. High-resolution cryo-EM work is conducted at the recently built Cryo-EM center at Princeton.
