Novo Nordisk Q3 2026 results, published on 4 November 2026, show adjusted operating profit rising 27% at constant exchange rates (CER) to DKK 31,720 million. The Danish drugmaker Novo Nordisk also raised its full-year outlook on continued GLP-1 momentum. The report covers 1 January to 30 September 2026 and centres on the Wegovy pill, the CagriSema pipeline and a change in finance leadership.
Adjusted and reported sales both grew 4% at CER in the quarter to DKK 79,195 million. Growth was driven by GLP-1 volume increases in the US and International Operations, mainly in obesity. Reported operating profit fell 9% at CER to DKK 23,011 million because of DKK 8.7 billion in non-cash impairments tied to ziltivekimab and the manufacturing network. President and CEO Mike Doustdar described a stronger-than-expected third quarter.
Management now expects 2026 adjusted sales growth and adjusted operating profit growth of -2% to +2% at CER. That is an upgrade from the -6% to 0% range given on 4 August 2026. Readers tracking the Novo Nordisk Q3 2026 results should note that the improved outlook is attributed mainly to higher expectations for GLP-1 product sales in both operating units. These statements are forward-looking and carry the risks Novo lists in its report.
Wegovy Pill Drives Obesity Growth in Novo Nordisk Q3 2026 Results
The Wegovy pill generated DKK 5,394 million in Q3 sales, of which US Operations contributed DKK 4,178 million and International Operations DKK 1,216 million. Novo launched the product in the US on 5 January 2026. It reports roughly 3.6 million prescriptions in Q3 and more than 8 million since launch, which it calls the strongest GLP-1 volume launch in the US.
Total obesity sales rose 22% at CER to DKK 26,146 million. Wegovy injectable sales were DKK 20,407 million, down 2% at CER, with US injectable sales falling 13% while International Operations rose 16%. In the US, Novo says the Wegovy franchise holds more than 50% of new patient starts among branded obesity medicines. It estimates the pill’s new-to-brand share at around 80%, a trend that matters across the wider GLP-1 obesity market.
Access and pricing remain central to the Novo Nordisk Q3 2026 results. Self-pay prices for the pill range from USD 149 to 299 per month by dose, and Medicare Part D obesity coverage began through the Bridge programme on 1 July 2026. Around 55,000 active subscriptions were recorded at the end of Q3. Novo also confirmed that, effective 1 January 2027, it will cut US list prices to USD 675 for several Wegovy and Ozempic presentations.
